Rent is 33% of your take-home pay.

Your rent fits safely within your Needs allowance, leaving ₹7,500 for utilities, food, and daily essentials.

Use take-home

Type the amount that reaches your bank. CTC includes money you do not have this month, such as the employer’s PF contribution and a bonus that has not been paid. The split is about the cash you can actually assign.

When 50 percent does not fit

In many Indian cities the rent on a first salary is already close to half of take-home. The calculator says so when rent is larger than the needs bucket. Change the percentages until they add up to 100 and match the life you have. A 70/15/15 month is more honest than a 50/30/20 month you cannot run.

The article when rent eats the budget is the longer version. Savings here means the buffer first, then a SIP. The order is the point of the site.

The 30-day checklist is on this site. The order is the useful part.
